Oakham, LeicestershireStretton Lakes Touring Park is set within 120 acres of farmland in the heart of Rutland countryside. Eight fishing lakes have been created over the past 40 years to create an idyllic setting surrounded by woodland and open farmland.
Our 5 Star Gold (VisitEngland) touring site has 26 all-weather lakeside pitches, all are south facing with spectacular views across our fishing lakes and the Rutland countryside beyond. Our touring site is open all year round.
Perfect for walking, cycling and fishing, we also have an abundance of golf courses within a short drive. Rutland water is only 8 miles away.
Free fishing is available to our campsite guests on 7 of our coarse fishing lakes, you can even fish straight in front of your caravan.
We have created a stunning shower block built to 5 Star standards, here you will find 6 individual private shower rooms, with rainfall showers, oak wash stands with raised stone basins.
Washing machines and tumbles dryers are available for your use.
Our 4 legged friends are also catered for with their own washing facilities.
Stretton lakes touring site is adults only. We have 4 log cabins that are exclusively Adults only, these lodges are all lakeside, with their own private hot tubs, Fishing jetty and Saunas, extensive decking area with outdoor furniture and BBQ perfect for alfresco dining.
We are very lucky to be surrounded by woodland and footpaths offering many different walking routes, excellent for dog walks, Stretton Wood is 100 acres to the north of our site and George Henry Wood which is 80 acres is between our site and Stretton village both have public access. Our woodlands are teeming with fallow deer often seen grazing the site.
All our Superior touring pitches are approximately 6m from the lakeside. Each pitch has 16amp EHC fresh Water and grey waste. All pitches have an adjacent grassed / gravel area for extra awning and picnic space.
There are two excellent award winning pubs within walking distance from the touring site, The Jackson stops in Stretton village, and the Olive Branch in Clipsham village, a must book whilst staying with us.
Our reception area offers tourist information, a book exchange, and some gifts to purchase.
Low level park lighting is around the touring site.

Our fishing lakes are well stocked with coarse fish, all lakes are free to fish, you can park next to your fishing peg.
Public footpaths cross our site giving access to woodland walks.
We are situated within a short drive between the two market towns of Stamford and Oakham which offer a great selection of shopping and site seeing opportunities. Plenty of places to sit back relax, enjoy a beer or a bite to eat.
Rutland Water is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in Europe, Rutland water is set within 3100 acres of countryside, the reservoir offers something for everyone in an exciting yet peaceful environment. It has a 25-mile circular track for walking and you can hire a bicycle or bring your own.
Rutland Water has an international reputation for sailing, trout fishing and bird watching, all of its attractions are only a 10 minute drive away
Bird watching: The British Birdwatching Fair is an annual event for birdwatchers, held every August at Rutland Water in England, run by staff and volunteers from the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust.
Home to the annual Birdfair and breeding ospreys Egleton Reserve is one of the best know bird watching locations in the UK. A plethora of hides, many with disabled access overlook a series of enclosed shallow lagoons at the western end of Rutland Water. The Birdwatching centre with its educational facilities are located at Egleton. The reserve has been extensively studied and many interesting plants and insects have been recorded.
In the summer months breeding Ospreys, Avocets, Sand Martins and little Ringed Plovers, Hobbies are commonly seen around the reserve. Plentiful Butterflies and dragonflies. In the autumn through to spring waders including, rarities turn up from time to time.
Golf: we have an abundance of golf courses in Rutland, the closest two courses are 2.7 and 3 miles away, both have 18 hole golf courses with a driving range.
OAKHAM – 7 Miles
Oakham is the County town of Rutland. Rich in history and character, Oakham is a bustling lively market town. The market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday in the Market Place. There is a wide variety of stalls selling fruit & vegetables, fish and cheeses, bread, clothes, household goods and plants.
STAMFORD – 7 Miles
Stamford is renowned for its historical, architecture. Declared a conservation area in 1967 and is proclaimed as ’the finest stone town in England’.
Specialist shops include china, wholefoods, confectionery, quality boutiques, interior design, art galleries, antiques, bookshops, crafts and giftware together with major high-street retailers and a wide choice of cafes, restaurants, inns and tearooms.

FROM STAMFORD – A1 North
A1 north turn off dual carriage way at junction B668 (sp Greetham, Cottesmore, Stretton) At T Junction turn right. At roundabout turn right under dual carriage way. At 2nd roundabout go straight into Stretton road, drive towards Clipsham. Fishery is 3/4 mile turn left into farm access. Site on left within 1/2 mile.
