For those who want to get away from it all Hallsdown Farm Touring Park is the place for you, no children, no dogs and just thirty large pitches.

A warm Devonshire welcome awaits you from Andrew and Claire who own and run the site alongside farming a flock of 150 sheep. As well as the sheep there are pet goats, pigs, alpaca, ponies, ducks and not forgetting Gerald the donkey.

Set in the peaceful rolling North Devon countryside, Hallsdown is the ideal retreat for either simply chilling, visiting local attractions including the nearby Wistlandpound reservoir or walking either the local footpaths or the North Devon section of the South West Coastal Path.

Our Facilities on Park

Hallsdown Farm Touring Park is a small site of thirty pitches, fourteen of which are fully serviced hard standing. They have their own fresh water tap, grey water drain & 16 amp EHU . The six grass pitches have individual water tap and 16 amp EHU. All pitches have newly planted hedges between them. New in 2021 we have installed 10 premium pitches they are fully serviced but have the additional luxury of your own toilet and shower facilities on your pitch.

The remaining 20 pitches have excellent wash room facilities consisting of four individual heated rooms containing shower, WC and wash basin all with unlimited hot water.

The information room is full of local attraction leaflets and other resources about the surrounding area. We also have a book exchange area and an honesty shop with a few basic supplies.

The laundry has a washing machine & tumble drier with an honesty box for payment. An ironing board is also provided along with an indoor dish washing area.

We sell Calor gas.

Hallsdown farm is a working sheep farm and Andrew offers farm tours which many visitors have found both interesting and informative, the tour also gives the opportunity to take in the amazing views of both Exmoor and Dartmoor.

The Local Area

From the sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Woolacombe and Croyde to the rugged moors North Devon has something for everyone.

A walkers paradise whether it’s a gentle stroll from the site to Wistlandpound reservoir or a walk to Arlington Court National Trust property & Carriage Museum where there’s a network of paths for all abilities or for the less mobile hire the off road Tramper scooter.

For a greater challenge the South West coastal path and the rolling moors beckon.

If you prefer to cycle, The Tarka Trail incorporates the longest, continuous off-road cycle path in the UK.

Half a mile away the Farm Shop sells a range of local produce, further afield explore the coastal villages of Combe Martin, the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth connected by the cliff railway, & the Market towns of Barnstaple & South Molton.

Whilst visiting Lynton take in the spectacular scenery of the Valley of the rocks and the Barnstaple to Lynton Steam Railway.

Explore the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe, take a wildlife cruise and you may spot a dolphin or a day trip to Lundy Island. Whilst at the harbour don’t miss Damien Hirst’s controversial statue Verity.

If you are a gardener don’t miss Marwood Hill Gardens, Castle Hill Gardens at Filleigh or take a trip to the RHS garden Rosemoor at Torrington.

From North: Turn right off the A361 (South Molton – Barnstaple) onto A399 (Blackmoor Gate); in 11.6 miles (1 mile past B3358 junction) turn left signposted Loxhore. Site is on your right in 1.3 miles.

​From South: Via A39 from Barnstaple signposted Lynton, at Blackmoor Gate Crossroads turn right onto the A399. After 0.2 miles, turn right signposted Loxhore. Site on right in 1.3 miles.
